Just when you think that you have a blue
ribbon winner you finally take your alpaca to the show ring
and find out the reasons you lost. It is nice to win blue ribbons but
I think the better reasoning to take your alpacas to the show is to see how your
breeding program stacks up with your fellow breeder.
It has been over a year since Lady Bug has been in the show ring. If you have been
viewing Lady Bug on our web page I describe Lady Bug with great Lock and
luster and the same color as her sire Snowmass Nautilus. Now I am going to
tell you why she did not win every show she was in. She lacks density that the
judges were looking for and the alpacas that beat her had better conformation.
Lady Bug has above average
conformation. I believe that their was not an alpaca that had better luster than her all
year long She is not the perfect alpaca but she is going to make someone an
outstanding foundation female for years to come. If we don't sell
her before her 1st cria she will become part of our
foundation females. One of the reasons that is alright with me is we have breed
her to LCA Quecha. This male will improve her density and conformation. He also has great luster and outstanding
results from his micron count. |
See his record on our web site.
If you have read Decembers New letter Lady buy is one of those females that will help you reach your goal
sooner in breeding by breeding her to an outstanding male. Lady Bug already has the great bloodlines and
all we did as a breeder was to try to improve on those bloodlines. I believe that this new generation of
cria's that Lady Bug will have will be outstanding. Try to stop by to take a look at her.
